Things I Like!

Just filling some time at the moment whilst I wait for a Customer Service fairy to pick up the phone in Orange country.

Just a thought: When we are put on hold, on the phone, we are forced to listen to terrible music [and it's inevitably terrible, always. No matter what genre you're into]. Why can't the company who program the automated voice services [where you have to push a button to chose your option], employ the same technology so that we can chose what music you listen to when on hold? If we're calling customer services the chances are we're not happy bunnies to begin with. I'd be less likely to be really pissy at the poor sod at the other end of the phone if I can mosh to thrash metal whilst waiting to get all that rage out of my system.

Anyway, here are a few of my favourite things I've been watching on the web this week:

Animation

Charlie the Unicorn:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsGYh8AacgY
One of the quirkiest and amusing animations on the Internet about unicorns.

Llama's in Hats Episode 1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZUPCB9533Y&feature=relmfu
Second verse, same as the first - but with Llamas!

DragonBall Abridged
http://teamfourstar.com/
Like Anime? Like really old anime? Like it when fans have parody-dubbed a once mediocre breifly popular anime into something beyond it's former glory? Watch this!

Web Comics

I Am Arg!:
http://iamarg.com/2011/07/08/07082011/
Little known semi-biographical 3 panel web comic. This ones about nightmares.

Web Games

Nation States:
http://www.nationstates.net/nation=cyberdelic
A text based nation simulator with some amusing and outright silly policies, choose how your society develops!

Articals

The Escapist:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/features/9766-The-R-Word.3
Heavy Content Warning. An online computer and gaming culture web site. This particular article was inspired by the recent debate of rape being used as a story mechanic in games and real life experiences.
